Out and about at Eat: Riverford
Yesterday was a fantastic day at the Eat:Riverford festival in Totnes, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The sun was shining down on us, casting a warm, golden light over the lush Steamer Quay and Longmarsh. We were blessed with beautiful weather, and the festival-goers took full advantage of it, making the most of this glorious late-summer day.
One of the best parts of the festival was meeting so many wonderful people. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, chatter, and the sound of people coming together to celebrate good food, drink, and community. It was heartwarming to see so many faces—some familiar and many new—each bringing their own unique energy to the event. From passionate foodies to curious locals, the diversity of the crowd made for an unforgettable experience.
We were thrilled to offer samples of our Riverford Field Kitchen Garden Gin, crafted with love and care. Watching people’s faces light up as they tasted it for the first time was truly rewarding. The gin, with its fresh, botanical notes, seemed to capture the essence of the garden itself, and we were glad to see it being so well received. It’s always a joy to share something you’ve poured your heart into, and yesterday was no exception.
Our trusty ‘Still on the move’ VW truck, lovingly named “Ginny,” was a real highlight of the day. Parked up and ready to serve, Ginny drew quite the crowd. There’s something about a classic VW truck that brings a sense of nostalgia and charm, and Ginny was no different. She’s been with us on many adventures, but yesterday might have been one of her best outings yet.
The festival itself was brilliantly organised and well attended. Every detail, from the layout to the scheduling, was thoughtfully planned. There was a vibrant mix of stalls, each offering something unique and delicious. The music added to the atmosphere, creating a lively, festive vibe that kept everyone in high spirits throughout the day. Kudos to the organizers for putting together such a seamless and enjoyable event!
Being part of Eat:Riverford was a delightful experience, and we’re already looking forward to being a part of Eat:Festivals next year. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello, sample our gin, or simply soak up the sun with us. Days like these are a reminder of the simple pleasures in life—good weather, great company, and the joy of sharing what you love.
